PullString's Voice-First Future

September 18, 2017

Today marks a big step forward in PullString’s efforts to deliver an exceptional platform for computer conversation that lets our customers, and everyone, talk effortlessly with the technology around them.

We are announcing a renewed focus on bringing the best authoring experiences for Alexa, Google, and other voice-first platforms to market through PullString’s Conversation Cloud, and we are excited to go on this journey into a voice-first world with you.

Over the past several years, PullString expanded our voice-centric platform to support text-based interactions as well on channels such as Facebook, Skype, Slack, and Kik. We’ve learned a tremendous amount while building and supporting these fantastic partners and customers.  And we’ve demonstrated the art of what’s possible, pushed the field forward, and won numerous awards with our customers on these platforms.

It is clear that the continued move to voice-based computer conversation represents a unique and remarkable industry changing opportunity. The explosion of voice-first devices, combined with our history in voice-based computer conversation, has led us to devote all our product development efforts towards building the best authoring tools for voice-based skills and applications moving forward.  We will continue to assess opportunities to support text-based bots in the future.

We are excited about this journey ahead, but recognize that many of you have bots in market or have been exploring the use of PullString Author for text-based use-cases.   We have communicated with each of our paying customers directly about their support going forward. If you are part of our free-tier program with an existing bot in market today, we will continue to support it until December 1, 2017.  We have also developed a migration script to make it easier to migrate content off of PullString.

For existing customers using PullString Conversation Cloud for Amazon Alexa or Google Home, we will reach out directly to discuss continued support and forthcoming product enhancements.  If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email at support@pullstring.com.

We’re excited to focus all of our efforts on voice-based skills and applications, and are excited to lead the field of computer conversation with our partners and customers on this journey.
